Reliable Grinding operates a modern van fleet that makes regularly scheduled pickups from various locations across the southeastern United States. Please contact us to determine if your knives can be added to our pickup schedule. Alternately, you may ship your knives to us using the freight service of your choice and we will return the knives to you using the transportation method you specify.
Upon receipt, we conduct a thorough inspection for wear, bow, cracks, and more, to ensure the knives meet the minimum requirements for regrinding. Depending on the type of knives and their condition, we then clean them either by vibratory processing, sandblasting, or hand polishing prior to regrinding.
This is where we implement the RG Edge process to give you a superior cutting edge. Some companies try to rush the regrinding process and "burn the steel", resulting in a brittle edge caused when they try to remove too much steel in a single pass. They then typically make a "clean up pass" to hide hide their unprofessional workmanship and make the knives appear well-honed. Not us! We know how to grind knives and will make as many passes as necessary to produce a quality, wear-resistant edge.
